Dear community member,
Thanks for being an essential part of our inaugural community — and helping define what this well-being movement can be for each of us.
To help us continue to build this community and give us a safe space to grow, I’d like to introduce a new tradition: quarterly ‘community corner’ chats — starting in March!
These Zoom chats will allow us to dive deeper into key themes and questions raised by recent newsletters, and to benefit from each others’ experiences and wisdom.
Starting in March, these quarterly ‘community corner’ chats will be offered exclusively to paid community members. My hope is that they help foster psychological safety and trust within our community — enabling meaningful growth for each of us.
Please reach out to me with your ideas for topics or questions for March’s chat.
If you’re a free subscriber and are finding value here so far, consider upgrading your account if you can afford to do this, using the button at the bottom of this message. By upgrading, you’ll be helping to build and sustain this community. As a bonus, we’ll get to know each other better at the ‘community corner’ chats starting in March!
A change in newsletter cadence
From now on, to keep content coming to you in regular, bite-sized pieces, you will receive editions of this newsletter every other Tuesday (every two weeks).
Each edition will feature one or more of these regular columns:
🗣 Deep dive with Dr Devika B. The evidence and actionable insights from high-impact topics in health, innovation, and culture. (If you missed January’s Deep dive: My top 9 mental health tips, read it here.)
OR
💫 Spread the light. A first-person account of living with mental illness that aims to dispel stigma and stereotypes and instead, spread hope and light — also published as a YouTube channel. (If you missed last month’s interview with Andrew Barr, a venture capitalist and person with OCD, you can catch up on the abbreviated written version here and the full video version here.)
AND 🌏 Where in the world? An original photo or video from somewhere in the world — to unite us across borders — and open to your guesses as to where it might be. (Answers revealed when the column is next published.)
As always, I’d love to hear your real-time feedback on elements of the newsletter and community as we build it — please don’t hesitate to reply here to reach me privately or to add a comment on the site to feature it publicly.
Wishing you light,
Dr Devika Bhushan
